Seminar Information

This seminar can help you:

  • if the thought of flying creates anxiety or panic,
  • if you experience discomfort when you travel by air,
  • if you would like to be able to travel prescription- or alcohol-free, or
  • if you have avoided air travel altogether due to fears or anxiety.

Our program is a two and one half day seminar (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon) which will help you deal with your fears and become a more comfortable flyer. Our team consists of a pilot, a psychologist and other related professionals who have worked with fearful flyers for over 7 years.

  • learn about their shared and unique fears related to aviaphobia.
  • receive knowledge about the technical aspects of flight and air travel issues(such as security, flight operations, personnel training and responsibilities).
  • be given a framework for understanding how anxiety develops and is sustained.
  • learn techniques (behavioral, cognitive, emotional) to promote relaxation, self-soothing and the reduction of fear.
  • get answers to all those questions you have ever had about flying.
  • tour an aircraft while in the maintenance hangar, gradually increasing your familiarity, knowledge and comfort with the flight environment.
  • fly together as a group on a short commercial flight, approximately 45-60 minutes in duration each way.
  • receive ongoing support from staff and fellow participants following the seminar. Referrals for related/additional treatment available if indicated.
